Natangwe Hamunyela is excited to begin his new journey as a business consultant at the entry level market (ELM), Oshakati branch. Hamunyela was born and raised in Okahandja, where he attended and completed grade 12 at the Okahandja Senior Secondary school. He moved to Windhoek to further his studies at the International University of Management (IUM).

He began working as a Sanlam intern in May 2021. “Getting the call to be part of the Sanlam internship programme was one of the highlights of my year,” he said. The internship lasted for three months.

Next, he remained with the company as a temp for the Broker Services Entry Level Market (ELM) which lasted until the end of October 2021.

He then joined the agency department, where he worked from December 2021 until February 2022.

During this time, he applied for the position of new business consultant position, which offered him the opportunity to become a permanent employee.

Big plans

Hamunyela has worked in his new job for two months now, since March 2022.

“I enjoy working in sales. In layman terms, the entry level market is in the sales divisions of the company. Having full responsibility for the new business, gives me a sense of duty. I plan on staying with the company long term, and if the opportunity arises, I plan to work my way up.”

Hamunyela has big plans for the future, and he hopes to further his studies in business administration while at Sanlam. “I believe education is the biggest equaliser. There is room for growth at the company, as we are offered a lot of opportunities to improve our skills and knowledge,” he said.

He is ready and excited to see what the future holds for him at Sanlam.
