We live in a society where rape Is unwanted, undesired and definitely not welcomed but why do rapists misinterpret this with the complete opposite as to encouraging rape culture?

We all know that majority of rape victims are female and majority perpetrators are male, but this does not mean that we should oppress men by saying “men are trash”. This is an overrated trend however, rape is not only a “women’s issue”, it is an issue that concerns us all.

It’s sickening that someone can actually scar another person for life. I strongly believe that rapists suffer from sadism which is the tendency to derive pleasure, especially sexual gratification from inflicting pain, suffering or humiliation on others because there is no way that any normal person on earth can actually think or do something so crucial onto another person.

Rape victims or anyone in general responds differently to trauma. Some may laugh, some may cry, some won’t show any emotion and others go mute. Rape victims have to live an extremely difficult life with painful emotions, because it is nearly impossible to forget what had happened to them. The aftermath of it all varies from anything physical which can be bruising, broken or dislocated bones and STD’s that were never wanted to anything emotional and mentally such as flashbacks, Post-traumatic stress disorders, prolonged sadness and unexplained crying. The pain inflicted upon victims is extremely scarring and we need to adapt a new attitude towards it all. A complete new vibe of zero tolerance for rape.

Male or female, nobody deserves to be a subject to rape and it is about time we all step up to eradicate rape culture as whole.
