“She is talented” is the first thought when we speak of our Emily Braune, Year 9, but that is not all she is. Emily is a lover of her horses and a dedicated horse rider. Emily is our senior sport ambassador for 2019. She was part of the Namibian eventing Team who participated in the Eventing Shield Series. The First competition was in Gobabis and the second in Shongweni, South Africa. The Namibian team was the youngest team, consisting of four Child and Junior Riders who competed against juniors and adults.

Namibia came home with the gold.

An outstanding win as this was done on horses the riders did not know.

Emily competed in two National Dressage, Eventing and Showjumping Tournaments in Swakopmund and Otjiwarongo respectively. Emily competed with two horses, a stallion called "Baron" and a gelding called "Moritz".

The results of the Swakopmund Tournament held on 7 - 9 June:

- Dressage placings, securing a place in the overall Derby, ending Second

- Showjumping Welcome Stakes: - First with Moritz, Second with Baron

- Show jumping Precision and Speed: - First with Baron, Second with Moritz

- Eventing: - First with Baron, Second with Moritz

The results of the Annual Otjiwarongo Show held on 14 - 16 June:

- Novice Dressage: - First with Baron

- Showjumping Welcome Stakes: - First with Baron, second with Moritz

- Showjumping Accumulator: - First with Baron

- Show jumping Precision and Speed: - First with Moritz, third with Baron

Since 1964 a floating trophy sponsored by the Town of Otjiwarongo is awarded to

the most successful Overall Rider of the annual Otjiwarongo Show;

The winner of this trophy for 2019 was Emily on Baron.

We are extremely proud of her riding achievements. She definitely represents our school and Namibia well.
