In its first ever existence at De Duine the bowling league surely has made waves at school and the learners seem to be enjoying the new sport a lot.
The 2017 bowling league took place at the Namib Park Bowling Club on the 3rd of August 2017. Four Secondary Schools took part: Walvis Bay Private High school, Dolphin Elementary school, De Duine Senior Secondary School and Kuisebmund Senior Secondary school .The prizes to be won is 1st prize –N$8000, 2nd prize – N$4000, 3rd prize – N$2000 and 4th prize – N$1000. De Duine’s a team: Fabio Awarab, Antonius Kamibeb, Akilha Lotsch and Junianita Van Rooi. The B team is: Roger Hangonda, Devine Haraseb, Mbeemuna Rutjindo and Beneace Nanghonda. The reserves was:Ashandy Tjikuniva and Uateza Ndjitaviva
Some of the bowlers said the game was not easy at all and that they had only two weeks to practice to know the basics of bowling. The competition was difficult because their apponents had years of experience. They also said it was an awesome opportunity and enjoyed it very much. They were a bit nervous before playing the first game, but as the game went on they got the hang of it. De Duine was also one of the schools that had to play against the champions of Windhoek.
