Entrepreneurial drive at the polling stations

29 November 2019 | Business

Election Day not only attracted registered voters to the polling stations but brought business to local entrepreneurs as well. People standing in the long queues at polling stations frequently grabbed a snack or a drink from vendors who were providing voters with refreshments without them losing their spot in the line. Most of the vendors were happy with their takings on the day. One woman said she kept an eye on the queue while selling her goods, and jumped in to cast her own vote when she saw there were fewer people in line. This photo was taken at the polling station at the Augustineum Secondary School in the Khomasdal Constituency.
