Fun day for Pro-Ed!

Pro-Ed Academy put on an impressive show of their entrepreneurial skills on Friday, 29 September 2017.
Entrepreneur’s day has always been an annual event held by Pro-Ed Academy, but has not occurred again since the high-school and primary-school separated. But this year Pro-Ed Academy was back at it again and a lot of unforgettable memories have been made, owing to one amazing entrepreneur’s day!
This event had everyone excited, as it brought the primary and high-school, as well as children in different schools together again.
It is clear that the world needs more innovation and more entrepreneurs. And the skills of entrepreneurship are also good life skills. We have entrepreneur’s day not just because of all the fun that comes along with it, but also to teach children business, so that once they are all grown up, they can be prepared for the real world and to nurture the next generation of doers and dreamers. Through entrepreneurship, students learn how to deal with customers with different personalities and how to keep them happy.
There were more than 20 stalls with the most delicious foods and snacks, like pizza, doughnuts, nachos, cupcakes, ice & spice ice cream,
Happy Me drinks and different kinds of the most amazing sweets for the sweet tooth.

Some of the stalls offered interesting games for big and small children, like bike riding on three different bikes, catch the bottle, slingshot shooting, pillow fights and fear factor where you had to dig through slimy noodles to collect coins in a certain amount of time.
These specific stalls gave amazing prizes away to the first, second and third place winners. The prizes included Happy Me vouchers, big teddy bears, slabs of chocolates and even massive cakes.
The entrepreneurs went home with a well-earned amount of money, as some of the stalls had regular customers. Because of the stalls’ attractive creativity and mouth-watering drinks and foods, they drew a lot of customers towards them, which resulted in successful stalls from the beginning of the day till the end. Some of the stalls’ money went for donations. These donations went to Pro-Ed Academies cricket team and next year’s German tour.
Throughout this special day, some of the children in grade 8-12, as well as teachers were competing against each other in different sports, for fun. These sports included - volleyball, soccer, netball, hockey, rugby and rope-pulling.
There were different teams signed in for these sports with the funniest names, like “Ma se kinders”, “Woef”, “Spiertiere”, “Rooinekke”, “Hop hop hoera”, “Bloublasies” and “Spoegwolwe”. This event was really something special, as the boys were playing netball instead of rugby or hockey for a change.

The teachers and the children enjoyed playing against each other, as it is not something you get to do or see every day. This event was an opportunity for children, as well as teachers, to move out of their comfort zones and experience new things.

This entrepreneur’s day was the perfect event for children to connect with each other in ways that they never thought they would and instantly make new friends.
There is no doubt that this entrepreneur’s day brought Pro-Ed Academy and the students, as individuals closer together and improved their teamwork abilities.
