Be the engineer of your own career with the MPS Graduate programme. This program is a new initiative that supports newly graduated Namibian students to start their careers and gain work experience to equip yourself for the future workplace.

This programme aims to attract and develop a diverse team of young Namibian graduates who are passionate about developing their full potential.

There were more than 600 applicants altogether that were filtered to select the best 14 during the first intake of the graduate programme that started in February 2019.

These 14 candidates started to work at Pupkewitz Megabuild divisional office as well as other branches all over Namibia.

They were selected based on various elements such as their field of study, exceptional results achieved, and attitude towards building a career. The programme aims to create an experience where all graduates have the opportunity to add value to their career lives.

The first group kicked off early in February 2019. This six-month program starts with an induction course which taught all the candidates the Megabuild way and skills and knowledge they will need working for the company.

They were also tasked to create a presentation detailing the functions of their specific departments. This exercise taught all the graduates the functions of all the departments and in this way they could learn from each other of all the other departments as well.

Each graduate was allocated a mentor who gave them further instructions and tasks and guided them throughout the programme. There were monthly meetings held to ensure that everything was still going according to plan.

The vision remains constant; for graduates to graduate from the programme and walk away with a value-added experience.

The first intake of this special programme showed tremendous promising results.

Five candidates received permanent contracts at Pupkewitz Megabuild in their departments, one candidate’s contract was extended for exceptional performance.

One of these candidates also received a bursary from Nedbank. One candidate already received employment at another company and three continues to show great commitment and passion towards the program.

The second intake of the graduate programme is scheduled to start in February 2020. A minimum of 15 newly graduated students will be taken in and start their journey with Pupkewitz Megabuild.

With the results and feedback from the first intake Pupkewitz plans to make this make this programme even more successful.

This time 15 candidates will be carefully selected based on their qualifications, potential and attitude. The programme will mainly focus on students who have graduated in 2019.

This means students who be writing their final exam around November and candidates who will be attending their graduation ceremony in 2020.

Together with six months’ work experience that includes payment, each student will also receive a certificate at the end of the programme.

Pupkewitz Megabuild encourages all graduates in Namibia to participating in this programme. As we all know we live in economically difficult times where work, as well as opportunities in Namibia is scares.
