Green pastures for graduates

A graduation ceremony at most universities is a day devoted to celebrating an important milestone - examinations are finally over, scruffiness is replaced with fancy clothes and parents are full of admiration.

More than 100 students graduated from the growing Welwitchia Health Training Centre at a formal ceremony at the Gateway Centre in Khomasdal recently.

Professor Scholarstica Iipinge (rector and co-founder) delivered the graduation speech, saying it was an honour to be part of the event.

“To the graduates, particularly the lecturers, thank you for your efforts and a job well done,” she said

“To the families and friends who are here to celebrate the success of the graduating class, I offer special thanks. Some of you will have travelled a considerable distance to be here and I am confident that the graduates today are heartened by having you here to share in this most memorable event.”

She congratulated the graduates on achieving a significant milestone in their lives.

The graduation ceremony saw a total of 106 students, which included students from Kombat and Rundu campuses, graduating.
