Is there a recipe for success?

Isn’t it funny how most people, including myself go through life wondering how others have made it in life, while we seem to be drifting like logs in a stream after a heavy storm. With no idea what so ever about the secret of success which others seem so confidently to possess.

For example some people finish high school knowing exactly what they want to do with their lives and how to accomplish their goals. These children go through life seeking and acquiring all their hearts’ desire, seemingly without having to sweat about it. Their destiny is like a fine work of art in the hands of a skilled craftsman.

To on-lookers successful people seem to have it easy, effortlessly they accomplish all that they set their minds to achieve. Alas, life is not that easy and success does not happen overnight. What most people don’t see is the massive number of sleepless nights and hard work that goes into what they do. So simply sitting down and waiting for things to happen by chance will get you nowhere. As echoed in the well-known saying : “Success does not just come and find out, you have to go and get it.”

Most people put obstacles in their way by focusing on the “what ifs “. While it is normal to want to avoid the struggle and hardship as much as possible, in truth that’s what keeps most people from moving forward. While dreamers are still sleeping and waiting for better times, the taker has already caught the rewards. Risk takers are more likely to be successful because they do not limit themselves and are willing to put in energy while other people are hesitant.

The question still stands, it there really a recipe to success? Well, what I have discovered is that success is relative. It all depends on your definition. To some it would be a life partner and starting a family or it is a job title. To others it’s being grateful and happy for the blessings they have. As said by Natalie Masseter, there is no recipe for success it is a unique as you are.”
