The Khomas Regional Council held an awards ceremony for the end-of-year 2017 JSC, NSSCO and NSSCH results.

The Khomas Region promised to move up with two positions in 2018 for the grade 10 and 12 external examinations.

The Khomas education directorate recognised the outstanding academic achievement of teachers who obtained 80% and above.

On 29 November 2019, teachers from the Khomas Region gathered as one at Windhoek High School to be acknowledged for outstanding academic results attained by learners in the various subjects for Junior Senior Certificate (JSC), Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary Level (NSSCO) and Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Higher Level (NSSCH) examinations in October and November 2017.

The Khomas education director, Gerard Vries, mentioned in his speech that the budgetary constraints that the directorate is facing did not deter them from organising this event to award good work and exceptional achievements.

Vries said, “This milestone is proof that the excellence of our top teachers has grown and we are thankful.” He further mentioned that the teachers represent the most noble of values all over the world: a passion for children, a desire for a better future, a yearning for knowledge and a commitment to the community.

The efforts of the best teachers were celebrated, as well as the top overall best school. This event is usually held to appreciate and motivate teachers to continue to give their very best.
