Moving with compassion
08 October 2019 | Youth
Compassion is a strong feeling of sympathy and sadness for the suffering or bad luck of others and wish to help them. The theme for this year is moving with compassion. The theme comes from the book of Galatians 6:2,”Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ”. Carrying each other’s burdens is the act of is supporting each other with whatever unpleasant situation or difficulty that they go through.
The theme basically tells us to love one another and to help each other in times of need. Moving with compassion is to go forward in one direction, helping others and working in unity despite the differences or their background. At Amazing Kids the theme for the year 2019 has been acted out by the teachers with their kind hearts and willingness to assist the learners that are in need.
At Amazing Kids learners are often encouraged to work together and contribute to each other’s knowledge thus promoting and acting out the theme of the year. Learners act out moving with compassion by helping one another other where they are struggling as the saying goes, “Two men are better than one “Moving with compassion helps increase the unity in the school community and it creates no room for failure because everyone is working together bringing together different types of information keeping the learners well informed.
According to Mr Magena Moyo a teacher at Amazing Kids, he feels that moving with compassion cultivates a culture of having to carry each other’s burden and it carries the spirit of unity among teachers, learners as well as institutional workers and unity is power. “Moving with compassion makes everyone feel the other persons struggle creating unity and strength amongst everyone.”
Mr Moyo says that learners should move with compassion and it should go beyond our school community and moving with compassion is not only for the year 2019 but should be carried on by practicing compassion for the rest your lives because that is the only way the world can live together in unity.
All in all moving with compassion is not only something that should be shared among the school community, but it should be spread further into the communities they live in and in the country at large, help where you and don’t be quick to judge because everyone you meet is fighting a battle you don’t know about.
