MTC recently handed over bursaries to four students valued at N$450 000. The students who received the bursaries are studying at the University of Namibia (Unam), the University of Botswana and the University of Science and Technology (Nust).

The bursaries were made available through MTC's Scholarship Programme for undergraduate level studies in information technology and in transmission engineering at Nust and Unam. The bursary would cover the entire student’s needs-accommodation, meals, textbooks, tuition fees and pocket money.

Recipients of the bursaries are Petrus Haukongo, studying Electronics and Telecommunications at Nust, Lysaendo Pretorius studying Computer Science at Nust, Helaria Nghikolo studying Computer Science and Network Security at the University of Botswana and Sherin Tshipena studying accunting at Unam.

“Awarding financial assistance to capable and bright students has become a tradition which MTC continues to honour. It is public knowledge that there are brilliant students out there, who are not able to further their studies because of financial troubles,” said Tim Ekandjo, MTC’s human capital and corporate affairs officer.
