Namibia wins in Brazzaville

The Namibian men’s team emerged triumphant at the Davis Cup Africa Group 4 tennis tournament in Brazzaville, Congo. The team beat Botswana, Angola, Congo and Uganda on their way to meeting Nigeria in the final on Saturday. The final match was level at 1-1, with the outcome depending on the doubles game. Codie van Schalkwyk and his young brother Connor won the first set 6-4 and the second set score was at 3-3, before the Namibians broke through to take the win 6-3. Namibian and the Ivory Coast will be the two nations promoted to Africa Group 3 next year.
