New beginnings

2020 has just started and I am looking forward to achieve all my goals set for this year. One of my goals is to grab this golden opportunity given to us by Namibian Media Holdings (NMH) – to be the editor for the first ever newspaper for ISWB – So International – and to make it hugely successful. NMH grants learners the opportunity to have their voices heard, and to make a difference as future journalists.

My team and I have made it our mission to showcase the bright side of school life, to showcase our passion for writing and to be the voice for the voiceless. We represent our school, a small community of almost 500 students, and we are looking forward to share their passions, talents, fun events and achievements with Namibia. We might be ant-sized, but what we have to offer is elephant-sized.

Prepare yourselves for an action packed read. This first edition is filled with stories of bravery, wonderful achievements and exciting events to come.

On the first page you are introduced to the eleven years of excellence ISWB has achieved. Visit the Highlight page to find the best throwbacks of 2020 so far and take a trip to the achievements of 2019 on page …

We also introduce you to moments of delight with the feedback on the Spelling Bee – a first of its kind in the world – and some words of wisdom and reflection.

We also feature the heroes of our school, those who achieve greatness by overcoming a serious disease or disorder, as well as those who are the masters in their sport. Read more about these unspoken heroes. And while you are at it, we are proud to present our own Junior Mayor, Kundjaune Kavare.

The second edition promises to be just as enlightening and inspiring – events such as The International Day, the annual stay awake and many more features will be shared with our readers.

So sit back and enjoy this journey with us.
