Praktiese benadering vir Elnatan

Beroepsgerigte vak word aangebied

Privaatskool Elnatan bied ‘n geleentheid aan leerlinge wat nie noodwendig akademies sterk is nie om ’n praktiese- en beroepsgerigte vak te neem.

“Ons bied sweis- en metaalwerk aan tot en met vlak drie en is by die Namibia Training Authority (NTA) geakkrediteer. Daar is ? groot behoefte aan iets meer prakties vir leerlinge wat nie suiwer akademies sterk is nie. Ons wil iets aanbied wat hiérdie leerlinge se sterk punt is,” sê mnr. Tinus Botma, die skoolhoof van Privaatskool Elnatan.

Die pos vir die betrokke onderwyser, is geadverteer en ’n gekwalifiseerde ambagsman is aangestel. Hy val onder die skool se adjunkhoof, wat ook ’n gekwalifiseerde ingenieur is.

“Aanvanklik was daar baie belangstelling in die vak, maar ons het gesukkel met die akkreditasie wat die proses effens gestuit het. Nou het ons volle akkreditasie ontvang. Beroepsgerigte vakke bied aan jou praktiese leerlinge ’n goeie platform om die ambagsmark te betree. Met die hersiende kurrikulum is wiskunde, ingenieurstekeninge en ingenieurswetenskap deel van die akademiese vakke,” voeg Botma verder by.

Die skool fokus nie net op leerlinge nie, maar bied ook aan die gemeenskap die geleentheid om betrokke te raak. “Kort sweiskursusse word vir ander akademiese leerlinge, ouers en plaaswerkers aangebied. Daar word ook verskeie produkte soos lekbakke, krippe, vanghokke, spitbraaiers en so meer op aanvraag vervaardig en verkoop,” sê Botma.
