The Namib High Interacts have diligently shown their enthusiastic devotion to the Swakopmund community. Empowering the forgotten and less fortunate has always been the driving factor for all members.

An eventful interact year has come to an end. With president Diana Hamalwa, Interact Guardian Menzona Lackey and committed members, the interact club 2019 has shown that they care. A variety of fundraisers ranging from Fun days to Christmas and Flee markets have provided the club with enough means to donate hygiene commodities to the Tamariskia Hostel. Charged by the great full smiles of the children, the Interacts currently strive to make their abode even better.

With newly elected president Kirk Gonteb the club looks forward to make the next reign even more memorable. With a mix of new ideas to improve the living standards of the Swakopmund residents, the new interacts are zealously making provision for their next helping hand task.

As a diverse community we all ought to seek after our neighbor’s better welfare. Through terminating selfishness and instead showing kindness despite the odds, we display care. With love being the seed, care the flower and confidence the fruit, everyone automatically helps someone else and themselves.

Here are a few ways you can show your care, without any materialistic involvement:

· Greet the people, young and old with whom you share interaction.

· Be aware of your speaking tone and the implications thereof.

· Ask yourself if this is how YOU want to be treated.

· Remember that a smile does not cost you anything.
