1. What is the best part about being a teacher?

As an experienced teacher, I always marvel at the priceless joys of seeing the progress of my learners. With time, they gain new knowledge, a deeper interest in the subject, and learn what fires their passion most. Your role as a teacher is to mould the future by influencing learners’ views and understanding. Also, you help them develop behaviour, adopt creativity, view the world in a positive approach, and find the potential they need to lead a productive life. Being able to be a part of the solution to foundation problems by helping shape the minds of young people and turn them into good citizens and lifelong learners.

2. What is the most challenging thing for a teacher?

Ability to develop trusting, productive relationships. The most frequent response is that a great teacher develops relationships with learners. Teaching is one of the most rewarding professions in that it gives you an opportunity to make an impact on a future generation. It is also extremely difficult and draining. No one with actual teaching experience would tell you otherwise.

3. What advice do you have for learners who want to become teachers?

The single most important reason to become a teacher is because you have a deep love of learning and want to pass that along to others. If nothing makes you happier and more fulfilled than seeing a student discover their passion, experience success in learning, or come to understand the importance of perseverance. If so, teaching is for you!

4. What are some of the best lessons you have learned from being a teacher at the school?

Parental involvement is one of the greatest indicators of academic success for learners. Those learners whose parents teach their children from an early age that learning is valuable and stay involved throughout school give their children a greater opportunity to be successful. Most parents want what is best for their children, but they may not know how to be involved with their child’s education. Teachers must take an active role in giving parents the opportunity to be involved. Furthermore, they must give them the opportunity to be involved on a regular basis.

5. What do you look forward to every day as a teacher?

Making my own lessons. Between my education classes and professional conferences, I have learned a lot of really interesting and fun activities that I can incorporate into my own lessons. I am really looking forward to actually putting these things into practice. It is incredibly rewarding to be able to teach things the way I want to. Interacting with learners. More often than not, kids are easier to get along with than adults. Having the opportunity to interact with them every day and getting the chance to be a part of their lives is such a rewarding experience. As a teacher, your interactions with certain learners could help mould who they grow up to be. I feel that this is such an important thing and I cannot wait to be able to contribute to the lives of countless children.
