Voortrekkers maak hul merk!

Op Onafhanklikheidsdag het die Namibiese voortrekkers die pad Suid-Afrika toe aangepak met die doel om hulle merk asook geskiedenis te maak!

Na twee dae se vroeg opstaan en ry het hulle uiteindelik hul bestemming bereik. In die Limpopo provinsie het ons Namibiese Voortrekkers vir die eerste keer Rhus Keeti kamp besoek.

Die tema van die kamp was Meningspyle en het basiese vrae behels waarop jy jou eie opinie kon lig en deur middel van jou sê ’n merk kon los. Die Voortrekkers het beslis hul merk afgedruk!

Daar was verskeie kentekens/kursusse waaruit jy kon kies. ’n Paar van die kentekens was: sterrekunde, kampbeveiliging, bergfiets ry,verfbal, rotsklim en vele meer.

Die Voortrekkers het nuwe maniere aangeleer om hulle Namibiese kampe te verbeter en dit meer interessant te maak. Daar was onder andere ’n snoepie, musiek is konstant gespeel en daar was altyd middae na ete ’n uur rustyd voor die volgende sessie.

Die deelname het ook verskil van Namibië se normale voortrekkerkampe. In Suid-Afrika het hulle oor die 100 kampers gehad op ’n verkenner(hoërskool)gebiedskamp en dit was vir hulle min. Hierteenoor kry ons in Namibië net om en by 50 kampers by ’n verkennergebiedskamp en beskou dit as BAIE. Volgens Christiaan Visser (’n sestienjarige Suid-Afrikaanse voortrekker ) behoort hulle so min of meer 200-300 te wees by hulle PD(laerskool) en Verkennergebiedskampe.

Gedurende die week het ons baie kennis opgedoen en ek is seker daarvan dat ons Namibië se naam hoog gehou het en dat ons en die Suid-Afrikaners ’n merk in mekaar se harte gelos het.
