My Zone went to visit Jan Möhr Secondary School to ask a few of the learners how they feel to be back at school after their long holiday.

Kaunalenga Kapewa

I have mixed emotions. Honestly, I am conflicted; I don’t know what to expect. I am optimistic and I’m excited at the same time.

Joshua Adams

I am actually excited to be back because school helps me to focus more on my programmes and schedules I set up for myself. School helps me increase my concentration and it helps me to put more attention and focus into my school work and I’m ready to tackle the work set out for us this term.

Anvor Mouers

I am actually quite excited to be back at school, knowing that I had enough time to rest throughout the holiday. I feel motivated to be back and I am ready to take on any challenges that come during this term.

Rhosia Lyatumba

I feel very motivated to tackle subjects that I struggled with. I also feel the motivation to study to beat my past targets and marks I got. Overall, I’m pretty excited because I have goals this term and I plan on achieving them.

Moses Filippes

I think being back at school is different for everyone. It’s not in my control but I do feel like it’s my one opportunity to pull up my socks, especially being in grade 10. I also feel like this is a time where there is a lot of pressure on learners and therefore this term I want to make sure that my mental health is in check so that I’m ready for the work load ahead.

Quintina Tjizumaue

I am actually really excited to be back at school because sometimes home can be really depressing and not being able to see my friends, so I’m glad to be back because I get to see all my friends again.
