The learners of PK De Villiers Secondary School were asked what their views are about the end of the year, and this is what they had to say.

Corlette Bock

I am very anxious, especially because of our final examinations. The pressure of not completing our syllabus in time is additionally stressful. In the same vein, I am excited since it's almost time to welcome a new year. I look forward to being able to spend time with family members.

The past few months have been extremely draining. Not only are we looking at examinations and the fear of not making it through the year, but the pandemic has also had a great impact on my spiritual wellbeing. One constantly thinks of your future and the feelings attached to that are very overwhelming.

Rusan Frans

I feel that this year has not been my year, especially because we were put under severe pressure and we needed to put in a lot of effort to do our work in such a short time. I also am quite relieved that the year is about to come to an end because I did not enjoy it.

Dwayne Afrikaner

This has been a very hectic time, especially for the academic school year. Too much pressure and strain were put on us. As the year is coming to an end, I feel more relaxed and relieved. We are now trying to cover all the work that we did not have time to do, to prepare us for the examinations.

Willmary Janser

In a blink of an eye, we are already on the edge of this year, so overwhelming but simultaneously exciting. I am excited to see what the last few months have in store for me. It has been such a challenging year but it's up to oneself to make the best out of it.

Carmelische Meyer

I'm a heap of mixed emotions. Afraid, because of Covid-19, the examinations coming up and excited to make it to grade 12. I am also very curious to see what 2022 has in store for me.
