Windhoek Hospitality & Culinary College opens its doors

This helps students gain a solid foundation to achieve their individual goals in a career in the world's largest and fastest growing industry.

The hospitality industry is experiencing growth all around the world and is one of the world’s largest employers. The last decade has seen the development of exciting career opportunities in hotels, events, airlines, theme parks, cruise lines, recreation and leisure.

Attending hospitality school can provide students with opportunities within the diverse tourism, hospitality and service sector industries. This line of work is good for very energetic people as well as people who have the ability to provide outstanding customer service, excellent communication skills, an ability to work cooperatively with a variety of personality types, effective time management and organization skills, a strong work ethic, and who are loyal, trustworthy and a team player.

If you have all these qualities and you missed the first open day of 2021, fear not because there is a second open day taking place.

WHCC will be hosting this month’s Open House on Wednesday, 29th April 2021 at the school, on the corner of Bahnhof and Independence Avenue in Windhoek. The event will run from 09:00 to 13:00.

Attending the open house is a great opportunity to see what the WHCC can offer. The open house is for students with interests in obtaining a diploma in hospitality mmanagement, a diploma in culinary arts, a certificate in our foundation program or a certificate in short courses. Other courses offered include front of operations and reservation systems, wine appreciation, beverage studies and bar operations, food and beverage service techniques and professional development and communication.

During the open house event, information will be shared about how the WHCC’s innovative academic programs integrate classroom study and real-world experiences. Moreover, facts will be shared about the college and how to graduate with up to six months of professional experience on your CV. The inside information on available programs, admissions, student life, and study abroad will be shared and how to meet current WHCC students and staff. A tour of the campus is also included.
