Young basketball players recognised

The first-ever OTB Namibian Basketball School League (NBSL) award ceremony was held on 10 November at the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule (DHPS) in Windhoek.

This year the league registered over 480 players and 23 coaches from various schools in the Khomas Region.

Speaking at the event, Malakia Matias, one of the organisers at the event said the league has a vision to use basketball as a development concept.

"We have successfully built networks and partnerships with a wide range of community groups and service providers. This framework allowed us to share resources and grow towards a common goal," he said.

DHPS principal, Kristin Eichholz said teamwork and intelligence wins championships and she loved watching the youngsters showcase their skills.

She urged the learners to follow instructions, as it will take them far, and wished the learners well for next season.
