Unam run in 88 points against Falcon

FNB University of Namibia (Unam) outclassed bottom-of-the-log FNB Reho Falcon on Saturday with a runaway 88-7 win.
Unam consolidated their third position in the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) premier league standings, running in 13 tries to just one by the visitors.
Right wing Aljarreau Zaahl and outside centre Darryl Wellman each scored three tries for the student team, with left wing Shareave Titus and full back Lorenzo Louis adding one each.
Loose forwards Oderich Mouton (twice), Gilad Plaatjies and Rowan Jansen also added five-pointers to the score board, as did Bjorn Kazondunge and Keanan Januarie, who were sent on from the bench.
With Louis’ nine conversions, his personal points tally came to 23 for the day.

Suburbs fend off challenger
FNB Western Suburbs made a convincing comeback after the previous weekend’s loss to FNB Wanderers, beating FNB Grootfontein 31-17 at the Hage Geingob Stadium.
Grootfontein’s challenge for a top-four spot came up short despite leading 7-5 at half-time, as the Khomasdal team took over in the second half.
Suburbs wing Lezardo Williams rounded off tries in the left corner in each half before being stretchered off with a shin muscle injury. Later tries by his replacement Joran Farmer, flank Vakomboka Kamboo as well as right wing Dumarcho Hartung ensured that Suburbs collected a bonus point, while full back Ricardo Swartz was successful with three conversions.
For Grootfontein, right wing Romanzo Lento, hooker Wikus Jacobs and flank Allie Emamdien scored tries, of which one was converted by fly half Louis Grobbelaar. The team from the north also suffered a blow in the second half when their agile full back Irongwa Atshivudhi was carried off with a concussion.

Rehoboth stays in the race
As expected, fifth-placed FNB Rehoboth was a task out of reach for Trustco United, as the Rooi Bulle took a 36-22 win at home.
National team fly half Cliven Loubser, wing Elmarco Beukes, number eight Charl Freygang (two) and lock Boris Majiedt (two) were the try-scorers for Rehoboth, while scrum half Ascher Coetzee landed three conversions.
Adding insult to injury, United lost their captain Eloff du Plessis after 60 minutes to a red card for a high tackle.
The visitors scored three tries by prop Jano Otto, eighthman Dean Blom and scrum half Pieter Jansen van Vuuren. Oela Blaauw (fly half) kicked two conversions and one penalty.
