Intouch is an interactive marketing company that has a dynamic team of innovative experts delivering something different to the custom cutting edge of digital solutions in Namibia.

The entity based in Windhoek has been in the market since 2006 and has grown to be in the frontrunner of the field.

Born in a village called Iilambo in the north of Namibia, Fillemon Silvanus was raised in Okahandja.

He attended Okahandja Primary School and completed high school at JG van der Wath. He then started his tertiary education at the Namibia University of Science and Technology in 2016, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in computer science specialising in software development in 2018.

Learning self-discipline

“On 1 June 2019, I started at Intouch as an intern for three months. Getting into the employment space after graduation, I must say I learnt a lot working in the field. It has challenged me but taught me a lot of self-discipline,” he said.

His daily duties as a software developer are to handle projects single-handedly from client discussions to client training, determining requirements as well as acquiring needs for any new applications to be developed.

He also maintains and upgrades existing applications, does research, designs, implements and manages software programmes and tests and evaluates programmes too.

“There was no single event that inspired me to become a software developer, it was a series of events that led me to studying computer science and choosing software development,” he said.

The power of teamwork

Fillemon keeps to himself most of the time and doesn’t really have a daily ritual. “What I usually do every morning is drink my coffee and read through the notes I leave myself the previous day and then the day takes off,” he said.

One thing that inspires him daily in his career is his dream to become a recognised figure in the world of software development in Namibia, so every day he aims to be his best self and to learn as much as he can.

“One thing that I have learnt so far in working with Intouch is that teamwork is extremely important; it takes a whole team to make the dream work and I love my Intouch family.

“So, for anyone who wants to follow in my footsteps, work hard and, with full determination, always go for what you want and try not to give up,” he said.
