One of the most embarrassing stages of being a teenager is when pimples decide to show up uninvited. Waking up in the morning to find out Jupiter relocated on your forehead right under Venus is one of the most irritating things in life. “What caused it and how on earth can I get rid of it” these are the first things that come to mind. Here are a few causes as well as methods to reduce or stop acne outbreaks. Before we get started you should keep in mind that not all of us has the same skin type, and some of these reasons may not be why your getting pimples or the products mentioned may not work for you skin, and its best to find what works for you.

A range of factors triggers acne, but the main cause is thought to be a rise in androgen levels. Androgen is a type of hormone, which levels rise when entering the teenage phase. In girls, it gets converted into estrogen. Human skin has pores that connect to oil glands under the skin. Follicles connect the glands to the pores and small hairs grow through these follicles. Pimples grow when these follicles get blocked, and oil builds up under the skin. Skin cells, sebum(secreted substance), and hair can clump together into a plug. This plug gets infected with bacteria, and swelling results. One reason that no one is really aware of is that problematic skin may be in your genetics! Sometimes using product to remove these breakouts may just be making it worse. If that’s the case, it will be best to see your doctor about it than trying out these entire different products on your face and making it tens worse. Other reasons may be greasy cosmetics such as too much make-up or the wrong make-up products, emotional stress, menstruation cycles, wrong skincare which can either strip away your skin’s natural oils or which is too harsh for your skin.

Drink lots and lots of water. I kid you not when I say this. It’s the most recognized piece of advice, but do we really do it? After the third time of going to the bathroom for the day, to pee, We get over the whole drinking water advice. It really does wonders. Wash your face properly every day. When you wake up and before you go to bed. Try to dry your face with paper towels or use a piece of clothing. The material in our towels dries out or face and contains dust that isn’t the best for our faces. Washing your face includes exfoliation at least once a week, in order to get rid of all the dead skin cells from your face. Some people think that because they have an oily skin they should stop moisturizing their faces, because it might just deteriorate. You need to continue moisturizing your face no matter what, but find something that suits best for your skin. One thing most of us struggle with is to just avoid contact with the skin. Stop touching your skin darling?

When it comes to things we put on our skin, mother-nature knows best. It is much safer to use products provided from nature hence it is proven to have less added harsh chemicals. Most recommended products are Aloe Vera, Tea Tree oil and Witch-Hazel.
