Face-to-face learning to resume earlier for students who missed online learning

Classes to resume on 15 June 2020
The resumption of face-to-face learning is set to commence soon after Dr Itah Kandjii Murangi, who is the Minister of Higher education, Technology and Innovation announced on the 09 June 2020 that students who have been affected negatively by the current mode of study online teaching will start earlier than the expected date - 03 August 2020. This decision was made after the Vice-Chancellor of University of Science and Technology, Dr Andrew Niikondo shared the students' concerns which has been successfully raised with the Prime Minister, The Minister of Health and Social Services and the Attorney General. The matter served at the Decision-Making Cabinet chaired by the President and it has been approved that the number of students as specified in the documents submitted can resume of on 15 June 2020 face to face teaching to address missed out time on theory and practical content. “It is imperative that the readiness of the campuses as per the COVID-19 measures and protocols is fully unascertained by the leadership of all the campuses that are expected to receive students back,” she mentioned.
