Fishing companies donate 30 tons fish to the vulnerable

With the new hake fishing season which started in the beginning of November, the Luderitz based fishing companies of NovaNam and Lalandii made the commitment on a courtesy visit this week to the minister of fisheries and marine resources to donate 30 tons (30.000 kilograms) of final fish product to vulnerable members in the Namibian community.

This donation is in keeping with NovaNam’s and Lalandii’s respective corporate social responsibility current project commitments, which align themselves to Namibia’s domestic agenda narrative as captured such as in the Harambee Prosperity Plan.

The donations will take place between next week and mid-December and will include people from 16 identified communities in Luderitz, Aus, Bethanie, Kosis, Kunene, Kavango West, Omusati, Omaheke and Keetmanshoop. In addition, fish donations will be given to old age homes, schools and hospitals.

NovaNam and Lalandii has commenced contacting with various community leaders to ensure that as many people as possible are reached so that they can benefit from this seafood donation. PHOTO: CONTRIBUTED
