“Work is at an advanced stage to acquire the devices and equipment,” said Murangi.
As institutions of higher learning resume in the first week of August, the devices are expected to be rolled out between June and early July according to the minister of higher education.
Kennedy Kandume, the acting chief executive officer of NSFAF stated that the subsidised devices will be accessible to them for half the market price after procurement by the institutions involved. For the students who are unable to top up the remaining 50% of the amount can enter into an agreement with NSFAF, which will allow them to receive devices as well and not be left out. This offer is available to students who are not NSFAF beneficiaries.
