Juffrou Roline neem afskeid

Juffrou Roline, die geliefde onderwyser wat ons met ‘n swaar hart verlaat.

Sy hou al vir 43 jaar skool, waarvan sy vir 10 jaar by Pro-Ed as ‘n onderwyser gewerk het. Sy is verseker een van ons beste onderwysers met die meeste ervaring.

Almal weet sekerlik teen nou al dat ons in Augustus in ‘n nuwe, moderne skoolgebou ingetrek het. Sy het gesê dat dit ironies is dat sy haar loopbaan by ‘n skool begin het wat meer as ‘n 100 jaar oud is en dat sy dit nou afsluit by ‘n splinternuwe skoolgebou.

Sy vertel dat sy vanjaar tydens die NAPSO-byeenkoms gekyk het na al die mense op die groot skoolterrein en toe terug gedink het aan waar Pro-Ed vandaan kom. Sy sê vir ons toe sy by die skool begin het, was daar plus-minus 100 kinders in die skool van pre-primêr tot graad 11 en vanjaar is ons amper 900 kinders. Sy vertel wat ‘n voorreg dit vir haar is om die skool so te kon sien groei.

Toe sy by die skool begin het, het sy die eerste graad 12-klas gehad in die skool en sy was altyd die prefektehoof. Haar gunsteling herinnering deur haar skoolloopbaan is dat sy dit baie geniet het om met die prefekte te werk en dat dit vir haar baie lekker was toe sy nog op die veldskoolkampe gegaan het.

Juffrou Roline sê dat sy wens sy kon verder aanhou skoolhou, maar as gevolg van mediese probleme is dit nie moontlik nie. Ons weet dat juffrou nog jonk van gees is en sy sal steeds enige takies wat die skool vir haar gee met entoesiasme aanpak.

Terwyl sy siek was en behandeling ontvang het, het ouers en kinders soggens in haar klas vir haar gaan bid terwyl sy in die personeelkamer was. Die skool het vir haar nuwe hoop gegee sodat sy deur hierdie behandeling kon kom.

Juffrou Roline glo: “Daar kom ‘n tyd om te kom en ‘n tyd om te gaan, en my tyd om te gaan het nou gekom.’’

Ons sal nooit hierdie juffrou met haar humoristiese opmerkings gedurende klastyd vergeet nie en geen ander juffrou sal ooit haar plek kan vul nie.
