The junior athletics is a very important event, the event which all juniors look forward to. It took place on the 24 February 2020 all the children did their best we could see that on the field. You could really see the determination and effort .You knew each and everyone one of them practised, but most importantly they had fun and made memories with their friends and family. The dolphins took home the cup for the juniors this year.

The performers who really stuck out in the boys were; Faith Zatjrua [567] under 9, Bostin Aebeb [471] under 10, Rashaad brand [848] under 11, Boris Auxab [768] under 12 and Sarel Redelinghuis [830] under 13.

The performers that really stood out and showed a great amount of girl power was; Olivia Shaahaunge [884] under 9 ,Faith Kavendji [1266] under 10,Sasha Tjhuro [1152] under 11,Shevonique Klein [1032] under 12 and Princess Noabed [666] under 13.

Faith Kavendjie, Sasha Tjihuro really made Westside proud by competing in the 2020 Zonals, which took place in Swakopmund. This was Faith Kavendjie’s second year attending and Sasha’s first. Sasha was excited about the news and said ‘’running is my life, I want become an athlete and represent my country like Frankie did.’

We as Westside hope to see more of young athletes, attending the Zonals next year and win. We as Westide groom and take care of both academics and sports, because we belief both are equally important.
