The smell of red roses, chocolate, the colours red and white filled the corridors of De Duine Secondary School on Valentine’s Day.

As usual, De Duine takes out all stops when it comes to celebrating the day of love. Learners had the opportunity to dress up in white or red clothes, and could also exchange gifts with one another.

The grade 12’s attending English classes had the opportunity to make heart shaped boxes with decorations of their choice, and could also write poems.

A small get together was hosted in the school hall for the juniors, and an exclusive dance was hosted for the seniors in town.

Juandro van Rooi, who attended the dance said that it was clear everyone enjoyed them immensely.

“We danced the night away, responsibly and it was great to share Valentine’s Day with my fellow grade 12’s.”

A senior Mr and Ms Valentine was crowned which was Luciano Otta and Chamelle Dick.
