Rondom dié tyd elke jaar, is die skool se leerlinge in rep en roer oor die nuwe groep leiers wat gekies word om WAP as leerlingraad te dien. Die besonderse groep leerlinge is reg vir die nuwe uitdagings wat op hulle wag in 2020 en sien uit vir wat die nuwe jaar mag bring.

Christo Boshoff, Milne Becker, Christo Liebenberg, Ernst Lowe, Marius Wessels, Ruben du Preez, Bennaton Calitz en Arthur Lewis is die seuns wat die meeste stemme verwerf het tydens die stemdag op Maandag, 23 September. Die dogters was op mekaar se hakke, nes die seuns, en die volgende is as die dogters se leerlingraad aangewys: Nika van Zyl, Zandri Botha, Marné Sowden, Carli Ludwig, Simone Theron, Sunika Hite en Brunel du Preez.

Die leerlinge sal onder die voogskap van me. Elize van Niekerk en Meneer Christie de Wet die skool se beste belang ter harte dra om sodoende die besluite te neem namens alle leerlinge. Die toekoms is rooskleurig, want die groep leerlinge is positief en reg om ’n verskil te maak en hul merk agter te laat. Die groep het die naweek van 27 September ’n leerlingsraadskamp gehad en deur al die sweet en kuier het hulle ook hard gewerk en is die beplanning vir 2020 afgehandel. Die Vrydag het hulle by die skool gewoel en werk en middagtyd na die plaas Stolzenfeld vertrek, waar hulle tot Sondag gebly het. Verskeie aktiwiteite het hier plaas gevind, wat onder andere insluit verskeie spanwerk en dinkwerk-oefeninge en probleemoplossings-aktiwiteite.

Die span se doelwit vir hulle dienstydperk is om die skool as ’n eenheid te laat saam werk. Verder wil hulle ook positiwiteit, trots, respek en geborgenheid onder die leerders skep. Tydens die kamp is persoonlikheidsontledings ook gedoen om te verseker die span is goed gebalanseerd. Die uitslae van die toetse stem definitief saam met die hoërskool en bevestig dat die groep baie goed gebalanseerd is in die vier onderskeie kategorieë, naamlik: “movers”, “thinkers”, “planners” en “connectors”.

Beide Me. van Niekerk en Mnr. de Wet is van mening dat WAP geseënd is met die groep se balans, aangesien elke lid van die 2020 span bydra tot ’n groter geheel, wat sal verseker dat die skool kan floreer.

Die groep is verantwoordelik vir die Astro Dag en World Cup Dag (beide hiervan vind nog hierdie jaar plaas). Volgende jaar is die sottery, kaalvoetdag, sokkerdag, senior braai en boemiedag van die verpligtinge wat die bekwame groep moet nakom.

Die hoërskool het gestem en hulle was in die kol en die groep kan sodoende die uitdaging op ’n nuwe manier aanpak. Die skool is in die hande van ’n groep leiers wat die skool lief het en daardie liefde wil oordra aan al die ander.
