Lost in the Music

Octavia Tsibes
There’s always something special about music. Whether it’s a simple rhythm or a much more sophisticated combination of vocal and instrumental sounds, it just has a way of getting to the person’s heart and soul. People get lost in the music as they enjoy the beautiful and sweet harmony produced when vocal and instrumental sounds are combined. Music can be used as a gift or token of appreciation while others use music as an expression of emotion such as love, hate, joy, sadness and even loneliness.

People get lost in the music when going through different life’s experiences. People tend to use music at any function or gathering be it in church or at a wedding. Music makes people dance, smile, forget about their worries and bring people close to each other for a much more intimate moment. Centuries ago the same music was used as a means of communication to warn or invite people to a gathering.

The attachment between humans and music is somehow an inborn thing and it is not really about the language used in the song or age such that even a clueless crying baby when they hear the sound of music they stop and look dazzled as they quietly enjoy the sound of music until they beautifully fall asleep. The emergence of the digital age over the past decades have allowed musicians and producers to be more creative by combining digital instrumentals and vocals to make high quality, diversified and entertaining music.

New music genres keep on emerging from Rhythm and Blues (R&B), Hip-Hop, Damara Punch, Oviritje, EDM and House and thanks to digital technology or platforms such Deezer, songs can be easily shared and people now have access to diverse music libraries available to them and they get lost in the music wherever they are, be it in a taxi on their way home or school or at party on a Friday or Saturday night. Music allows people to enjoy a quiet moment of meditation whether they are streaming their favorite songs online or a playlist on their cellphones.

The way people get lost in the music when they have their headsets plugged in is just amazing. At the end of the day everyone gets to enjoy the music they love whether it’s secular or spiritual music, there’s just music for everyone. So, what are you waiting for, get lost in the music and let music revive your beautiful soul.
