Nuwe skool vir Hentiesbaai

Die Besunan Education Centre poog om ’n baken van lig en hoop vir die Hentiesbaai-gemeenskap te wees.

Besunan Education Centre (BEC), wat deur die besturende direkteur van Besunan Investments CC en afgetrede onderwysveteraan, mnr. Elias Nanuseb, begin is, sal na verwagting sy deure op Hentiesbaai in Januarie volgende jaar oopmaak.

Volgens Nanuseb sal die skool ’n rekenaarsentrum, klaskamers en ’n koshuis hê om onderrig te ondersteun.

“Die skool se visie is om die innoverende gebruik van onderwys en beroepstegnologieë vir interprofessionele en kruisdissiplinêre onderwys aan te wakker,” het hy gesê.

Nanuseb sê verder BEC sal graad 10- en 12-leerlinge, wat nie die vereiste toelatingspunte kon behaal nie, ondersteun om hul onderrig voort te sit en sal ook beroepsgerigte vakke soos swyswerk en elektriese werk aanbied.

“Ek het besluit om op Hentiesbaai af te tree en het besef dat as ’n leerling graad 10 of 12 druip hulle nie ’n plek op die dorp het om hul punte te verbeter nie,” het Nanuseb gesê.

Hy sê verskeie families is nie finansieel in staat om hul kinders na ander dorpe te stuur nie en sommige leerlinge bly in die dorp en het nie die vooruitsig van ’n beter toekoms nie.

“BEC sal ook kyk om graad 8- tot 11-klasse aan te bied in die skool se tweede of derde bestaansjaar,” sê Nanuseb gesê.

Nanuseb sê klasse sal tussen 10 tot 15 leerlinge kan akkommodeer. “Kleiner klasse beteken individuele onderrig is moontlik, wat die leerlinge baie sal help.”

BEC wil ook ’n gebalanseerde program aanbied wat beide akademiese en sportaktiwiteite aanbied.

Volgens Nanuseb kan die skool tot 300 leerlinge terselfdertyd in beide beroepsonderrig en onderwysaktiwiteite akkommodeer.

“Tot en met 25 leerlinge kan deelneem aan onderwys en opleiding met gestandaardiseerde eksamenklaskamers.”

Nanuseb sê die skool sal Namibiese onderriginstellings se akademiese kalenders volg. Die biblioteek en sentrum sal 30 rekenaars, drie drukkers en drie skandeerders en ’n verskeidenheid multimediatoestelle vir die ontwikkeling van kurrikuluminhoud hê.
