When and where did your teaching profession start?

I started teaching in 2011. My teaching career started at Delta Secondary School Windhoek.

What subjects do you offer?

I started teaching Entrepreneurship, Accounting and Keyboard and Word Processing/Office Practice. I now teach Entrepreneurship and Business Studies to grade 8 to 11.

3. Have you always wanted to be in the teaching profession?

I always wanted to be a teacher, because I myself had some incredible teacher role models.

4. What do you enjoy most about teaching?

I enjoy the fact that you never have the same day twice. You never have the same experiences and also you get to know different learners every year and also get to see them grow into responsible adults.

5. What is a common misconception about teaching and teachers?

The one misconception that is very common among society is that "teachers only work half the day". Any teacher who is passionate about their work will tell you that this is an all-day job. You always take the school home, i.e. you take your marking home and you also take the worries about your learners home. It is not something you can just switch off and leave behind. I believe that I have the most hard-working colleagues and any of them would agree with me on this misconception about teachers.

6. What is something you have learnt during your teaching career?

Teaching has taught me a lot. The one thing that will always stay with me is that I am not unteachable. I learn so much from my learners and colleagues every day and I wish to never become an unteachable individual.

7. What country would you like to travel to one day?

One day when I'm all grown up, I would love to visit Greece.

8. What do you love most about being Namibian?

The one thing I love about being a Namibian is that I am part of a very special God-fearing nation who embrace the concept "it takes a village".
