Bendelene van Wyk is the senior administrator at the Swakopmund regional office of the Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF). She strives to create opportunities for growth and success for her team and the Fund as a whole.
Van Wyk greatly values the importance of teamwork and contributes to the skills of her team by providing them a platform to reach their full potential.
“I enjoy the challenge of encouraging my team to live out the goals and values of the company, in order to serve our clients in a professional and respectful manner,” she says.
Van Wyk values “acts of kindness” and gets the greatest satisfaction from serving her clients to the best of her ability. Her ultimate reward is seeing her clients walk out of her office satisfied.
In her role, Van Wyk has continuous discussions on how to effectively implement the Fund’s strategy.
“The fact that I have a very disciplined and structured way of working and operating enables me to guide my team to ensure that the objectives of the Fund are achieved,” she says.
She adds that her colleagues have become a part of her extended family due to the close working relationship they share.
As a mother of two, Van Wyk says her work and family are equally a priority. She describes her children as full of life, loving and inquisitive. They are her foundation and support system. In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy travelling and camping.
“I also enjoy watching TV, spending quality time in my garden and with the rest of my family,” she says.
