Although our school has a lack computers and other technological aspects, we are

not far behind when it comes to the basic computer skills.

Our school has I.C.T class where we learn basic computer studies.

Every class from grade 10 to 12 has at least 2 periods of I.C.T class a week.

We are taught how to type articles which is a necessary skill for university,

as well as job seeking. We are taught different applications on the device, and their uses.

During the lesson we write simple articles and look on creative ways to write articles, as

well as professional ways to write articles. I.CT plays a significant role in enhancing learning in the classroom and beyond. It provides learners with a wider and flexible range of learning materials. It provides increased motivation and more efficient improved presentations. The I.C.T lessons encourages the collaboration with learners in the same class.

Although we have computers available there are some challenges that we are facing. The unavailability of the latest I.C.T equipment is one of them. Lack of motivation from teachers and learners to take up computer science as a field of study. The lack of material support of the subject. Financial problems may prohibit the effectiveness of this program.

Admitting that we face some challenges I would call them stumbling blocks however, teachers and learners have a strong desire for the subject. As the world’s famous saying goes ‘Where there is a will there is a way’. By continuing the program we are regulating the technology interactions. By pursing this subject at school we as learners are expanding our knowledge. The ICT increases our curiosity and brings out our creativity and show case our talents in different forms. Despite facing some setbacks I believe our school has to continue with the I.C.T and perhaps in future introduce Computer Studies as a field. I believe gradually but surely we will get a computer sponsors somewhere out there to improve our learning.
