One of the most anticipated events of the year recently took place at the Dome in Swakopmund. On the 26th June 2019 the Namib High Schools LRC’s the organized a boxing bonanza for every learner who was interested to part take and showcase their skills and talents.

Every School had representatives, and what made it interesting was that this boxing match was for both boys and girls. Swakopmund Secondary School was represented by Petrus Mbarundu, Albertina Indongo and Charlie Joiy Nangolo. As we all know how it goes in competition only one person can be victorious and in Charlie’s match he won against his opponent and for Petrus it was a draw.

According to Kimberley Dawids a grade 12 learner at SSS “the match was very fun, since it was my first time at a boxing event, I really had fun”. Furthermore she added that, “I believe the learners that took part in this event were very brave, a few of them did it for their first time and it was a great job”.

“I got to enjoy so much of the event when a friend of mine got in the ring”, says Connie Kaisuma a grade 12 learner from Namib High School. She continued saying that, “the best and funniest part of the match was the one of Fortune from our school and Metumu from Westside High School”. Connie said that she thought her friend Fortune would be much worse than she actually was since she really had no idea about boxing. “But it was great seeing her in the ring. Kudos to all the girls who got in the ring.”

Flex Titus, was impress and “felt as if I was watching something done by professionals, it felt nothing like an event that was organized by learners to be done for fun”.
