The ITF/CAT U/14 and U/16 individual and team competition will again take place in Windhoek on January 10 -19 at CTC and SKW's courts.

Our very own tennis star, Connor van Schalkwyk will yet again participate this year. It's his "up" year (he turns 16 at the end of November) and we believe he stands a chance to do very well in u/16 individual competition as well as the doubles with teammates George Louw...

Connor had a challenging but a very good year and had to move up from competing in the ITF/CAT under 14 tournaments to the under 18 on the ITF Circuit. In April 2019 Connor was ranked 704 on the ITF ranking (World Tennis Tour Junior ranking) and he improved his ranking to a current ranking of 509. Due to Connor’s age and being 14 years old Connor was limited to only play 14 International Tournaments this year. He made the best of his opportunities and had some good results. In his singles, he reached 3 quarterfinals in Grade 4 ITF tournaments and reached the semi-finals in a Grade 5 ITF Tournament. In 2019 Connor teamed up with his brother Codie van Schalkwyk and they won their first doubles title together at a grade 4 ITF tournament in Tunisia. Connor also reached two semi-finals in doubles.

Previously in the Southern African Championships, the team earned a bronze medal for Namibia, we are sure this year they would want to keep the winning streak and compete for another medal.
