“She’s excited, she’s energised and she is synergised,” says Carmen Stenger, the sales and marketing manager of Synergi.

Two weeks ago, Anri Venzke created her path to Namibia Media Holdings (NMH), where she started as the first multimedia designer at the marketing department now known as Synergi.

Born and raised in Windhoek and having studied visual communication in Stellenbosch for four years, Venzke returned to Namibia in 2019 to apply her expertise in her motherland.

On the job

“What other people specialise in, you do all of it,” says Venzke, adding that as a multimedia designer you need knowledge of all aspects of design, ranging from basic layout to animation. Venzke enjoys creating her own illustrations for the designs she creates.

As a multimedia designer, her day-to-day activities include assessing and analysing what requires her urgent attention. Being the newbie, she is still finding her feet and has done website takeovers, print takeovers and social media takeovers. All the designs or animations that Venzke creates have to look good on various platforms - print, website and social media.

According to Stenger, Venzke is required to take the Synergi brand to the next level. “Anything that is in print can be taken to multimedia,” says Stenger, referring to various digital platforms.

According to Stenger, in the two weeks that she has been on the job Venzke has already come up with good ideas and taken her briefs and delivered accordingly. “She has already taken Synergi to the next level by making a proposal more visual for clients,” Stenger adds.

The loves of Venzke’s life are her two cats, whom she absolutely adores, and she sees herself as one day having 17 cats. The young graphic artist is also into oil painting, which is one of her passions. Before she became a graphic designer, her dream was to venture into fine arts but because of her love for routine she decided to opt for graphic designing, as it provides her with more stability.

With both her parents having been involved in the media industry, Venzke is inspired by her father’s work ethic and his view that as an individual it is best to be a jack of trades and easily adaptable. Her mother has always provided her with all the support she needs to accomplish her dreams.

“I think it’s special that NMH knows its country and know who they are speaking to,” Venzke says.
