Khomas governor’s visit to Elite aimed at sports development

Khomas Governor Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma recently visited Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics Club in Windhoek’s Prosperita as part of ongoing efforts to support sports development in the region.During the visit, Nujoma met with athletes, coaches and staff, and toured the club’s facilities. The visit aimed to gain a deeper understanding of rhythmic gymnastics and observe the training and commitment required for the sport.
He also held discussions with gymnasts about their goals and challenges, including their hopes of representing Namibia at international competitions.
The visit is expected to help raise awareness of rhythmic gymnastics and reflect support for broader access to the sport. This includes opportunities for high-performance athletes as well as those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The club expressed hope that the visit would lead to greater investment in training facilities, coach development and inclusive programmes.
