Women’s cricketers keep T20 World Cup chance alive

Champions Zimbabwe and runners-up Namibia became the two teams from the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier to advance to the global qualifier (12 January – 2 February 2026 in Nepal) for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup (hosted by England and Wales, 12 June – 5 July 2026). In the African qualifiers’ final on Saturday at the Namibia Cricket ground, Zimbabwe (116/1 in 16.3 overs) beat Namibia’s Capricorn Eagles by nine wickets, despite Kayleen Green top-scoring with 48 (47 balls) in the hosts’ total of 115/7.
