Actor: Adriano Visagie

An actor is a person who portrays a character in a performance, either on stage, TV or film. Adriano Visagie, an award winning stage actor says his love for theatre began in high school. “I was never fully aware of the big world that existed around theatre,” he says. After being in the industry for six years, Visagie says what he loves most about his job is that he can relate to the characters he has to play. “Once you become the voice of that character, it is very liberating.” Visagie advises all those interested in entering the world of acting to always make sure their work is consistent and to be professional at all times. “You also need to make sure you develop a thick skin, as not every director may choose you for a specific role,” he says.
