Psychological counselling involves an interaction between the therapist and the client to explore potential cognitive or behavioural issues present in their lives. The information acquired is used to better understand the problems and work towards a solution.

As a psychological counsellor, Durand helps people make informed decisions about their future, school preparedness, learning issues, study methods, and counselling. She also works with a number of firms and provides departmental training on a variety of issues. Additionally, based on the circumstances, she conducts various psychological assessments for both businesses and individuals.

She chose this profession because she cares about others. She particularly enjoys assisting children who are having difficulty learning.

"When they are still very young, intervention is usually quite beneficial. I feel that if we create intervention centres where we can deal with children on a daily basis for six to eight weeks, we will be able to accomplish so much, and this will undoubtedly lead to a decrease in mental health problems in adults."
