Radio frequency manager :Hannes Siebert
A radio access network is a technology that connects individual devices to other parts of a network through radio connections. It is a major part of modern telecommunications, with 3G and 4G network connections for mobile phones being examples of radio access networks.
Hannes Siebert is the infrastructure manager of radio access networks at Paratus Namibia. His daily tasks include making sure that the installation and rigging teams are doing their work well and on time.
“Growing up I was always fascinated by how radios are made and became interested in radio frequencies and transmitters. The really wonderful thing about this medium is the great diversity of it,” Siebert says.
“After you complete your studies in the field of electronic engineering, hands-on training in the industry with a radio communication or a broadcasting company covering two way radio communications, radio and television broadcasting or satellite uplinks will be very valuable to refine and develop your skills,” he says.
