An underwriter is in charge of controlling a company's insurance risk with respect to all the clients it insures. The underwriting manager uses data analytics, actuarial analysis and risk evaluations to determine the cost and conditions of every policy. Pedro Vicente is the sole proprietor of Catapi Print. He is also responsible for managing the underwriting department.

The most important responsibility of the underwriting manager is to see to it that the company is not exposed to undesired risks. In order to be an underwriter, one requires a series of specialised skills, including analytical, computer, communication and math skills.
