Buumba Mwiya our Redenaars rockstar

The Orakel team had the opportunity to interview Buumba Mwiya, a 17 year old grade 11 learner and Redenaars extraordinaire, on her expedition to South Africa for the AKTV Redenaars semi finals which took place between the 9th and 14th of September 2023.

"Spectacular, adventurous and a breath of fresh air", are just a few of the words Buumba used to describe her journey of five days and approximately 3698 kilometers, to what is known as the of the springbokke.

The moment she arrived in South Africa she was immediately greeted by the AKTV Goudini spa staff- this is where she resided for the remainder of her trip. In her free time Buumba enjoyed basking in the sun, submerging herself in the clear blue waters of the Goudini spa swimming pool, meeting new people from all over and embracing the landscape that was in front of her. According to Buumba there was still plenty of activities that she still wanted to tackle before she made her way back to Namibia, but unfortunately the rough rain that fell on that Tuesday prevented her from doing so.

Nonetheless, this did not stop her from enjoying the journey to its fullest extend. "I am grateful for the opportunity and the experience was truly memorable. I learned a lot from others and loved the people and places along the way." Buumba is thankful for her loving mother that pushed her into joining the Redenaars team. Not only did this ignite a spark in her but it helped her reach her fullest potential. With the support of her friends, family, teachers and fellow students behind her, Buumba managed torepresent Namibia to the best of her abilities.
