Style with a purpose
On 13 March 2026, learners from Okahandja Secondary School (OSS) showcased their creativity and style at a unique event that combined self-expression and fundraising.
The event, organised by the Learner Representative Council (LRC), encouraged students to transform their school uniforms into personalised fashion statements by adding accessories, pins, bows, jewellery and layered clothing.
This innovative approach not only allowed learners to express their individuality but, according to the LRC, also contributed to a worthy cause, raising funds for their LRC camp, which took place from 23 to 25 March at Hakos. The purpose of the event was to provide a platform for learners to unleash their creativity and to alleviate the academic pressure they face by injecting fun into the school routine.
The LRC aimed to create a much-needed distraction from the rigours of assignments, projects and tests. The outcome was a success, with learners enthusiastically embracing the opportunity to showcase their flair. The creative uniform revamp not only demonstrated the learners’ resourcefulness but also highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities.
