Power sparks Namibia

Electricity is truly the power that sparks development. That spark is being harnessed in Namibia to bring light, to bring opportunity, to realise ambition and to spread energy throughout the country.

However, the spark is dangerous. It needs regulation, it needs control, quick reaction to faults, and it needs direction to ensure that it flows where it should.

In this edition, we shine the spotlight on all these aspects and more. We showcase how artificial intelligence is applied in Africa’s first fully automated substation. We introduce some of the remarkable Namibians leading the charge, and we showcase strides to empower and equip more young people to fully participate in bringing power to the people.

We expose how sunlight is being harnessed for export and we illuminate how money is being put to work to expand the reach of the national grid.

The aim is to energise Namibia’s push to bring the power home, hoping that you too will join in the national endeavour to excite a brighter future for us all.
