Agra weaner championship series recognises communal farmers
Wilson Tjirare, Godfried Zemburuka and Frenfriedt Karipata were recently announced as the top three champions of the Agra 2023 Weaner Championship Series National Winners – Communal Towns. The trio participated in the final Weaner Championship Series event for the Communal towns in Gobabis, hosted by Agra Auctions. The communal towns included Okakarara, Okondjatu, Aminius, and Talismanus.Tjirare won the Feedlot Potential category, Zemburuka won the Veld Potential, while Karipata was announced as the winner for the Heifers with Breeding Potential category.
In addition to the championship series, the event also organised a training day on livestock management for communal farmers. The training aimed to teach farmers the correct farming methods and the proper use of the resources.
The competition was conducted with the utmost professionalism and rigour by a panel of judges with extensive experience and insight. The judges were experts in their fields, such as Christo van Zyl, Lourens Swart, Norbert Neumann, and Danie de Lange from Feedmaster, and Paul Klein, Herman Lintvelt, Fanie Cronje, and Flip du Plessis from Agra.
The event organisers thanked Bank Windhoek for sponsoring the programme for the communal farmers. They celebrated the success of the Agra Weaner Championship Series and said they look forward to more growth, excellence, and camaraderie in Namibia’s cattle industry.
